The problem
Traders live on the phone. With about 20 of them, the details that decide a trade (the price, what was promised, who needs a callback) sat in call recordings nobody had time to review. Notes were partial and late, follow ups slipped, and there was no searchable record for compliance. Every minute a trader spent writing up calls was a minute off the calls that make the firm money.
What we built
We built a local transcription and summary pipeline. Recordings from the firm's cloud phone system are picked up only once fully written, transcribed on the firm's own hardware, summarized into the fields traders use (counterparty, instruments, next actions), and written into the firm's existing database with retries and phone number matching, so every call lands on the right contact. Audio and transcripts never leave the firm's network.
Results
- Every trader call captured as a searchable summary, so follow ups and deal details stop slipping
- Tens of thousands of calls ingested at cutover with zero write errors
- Runs on the firm's own hardware: audio and transcripts stay on its network
- About $600K a year in illustrative value from labour removed and trader time returned to revenue work
